Puerto Plata (or officially known as San Felipe de Puerto Plata) is the ninth largest city in the Dominican Republic and the capital of the province of Puerto Plata. For spectacular city views, take a ride up the Pico Isabel de Torres mountain which stands over 2,600 feet high. History buff? Visit Fortaleza San Felipe, which was built in the 16th century and served as a prison under the dictatorship of Rafael Trujillo. Puerto Plata Bar Hoping By Party Trolley

Ride through Puerto Plata on a vintage trolley and pass landmark attractions between stops at the city’s liveliest bars. The fun will begin the moment you step aboard the colorful, hand-painted trolley and kick off the party with an ice-cold Presidente beer, a refreshing pilsner brewed in the Dominican Republic. Once the trolley takes off, you will drive along the waterfront malecón and see the iconic Fortaleza San Felipe, a 16th-century Spanish-built fortress that overlooks the bay. Stops along the way will include the Victrola gastropub, a bar on Umbrella Street – a pedestrian walkway named for the brightly colored umbrellas hanging overhead – and the Macorix House of Rum. After a behind-the-scenes tour of the rum museum, you will enjoy a sampling of Macorix’s premium spirits. They may include a golden añejo, a spiced rum and a double-distilled white rum. The cigar experience on Kite Street will be just as immersive.
